For the week ending December 19th, 2020, the S&P 500 rose 1.3%, Nasdaq rose 3.1% and Dow Jones rose 0.4%. U.S. Department of Labor released Initial Jobless Claims for the week ending December 12 and 885,000 filed for unemployment (818,000 were expected by economists).

Roku (ticker: $ROKU) reached a distribution deal AT&T’s WarnerMedia (ticker: $T) to bring its streaming service HBO Max to Roku platform. HBO Max became available on Roku from this Thursday, December 17. Press Release available on Unhedged here.

Securities and Exchange Commission SEC charged Robinhood Financial LLC this Thursday, December 17 for misleading customers about revenue sources and failing to satisfy duty of best execution. Robinhood agreed to pay $65 million to settle the charges. More information about the case available on SEC website here.
